When to Rotate Tires on FWD and RWD Vehicles

With a rear-wheel drive vehicle, the opposite is true. The rear wheels receive power so those tires wear down faster. • Expect to perform a tire rotation every 5,000 to 7,500 miles unless there are different recommendations from the manufacturer.

• Reverse the process if you have a rear-wheel drive vehicle. Move the front tires directly back, then move the back tires forward and switch sides.
